(unless you walk another 20 minutes to the opposite end of the beach) Our room was nice, a good size with nice bathroom (with poor shower pressure), however the terrace has no view unless you stand and pier over the hedge. No beach beds, no towels, no bar and no food. While the beach is magnificent there are no facilities on it. It is a pleasant 10 minute walk to the beach downhill over a rough gravel track. The website photos would suggest that it is located near a beach and that it has beach facilities and this is not the case. This is a small friendly hotel that somehow seems to fall short of the standard one expects from Chateaux Relais. in general the place is beautiful and the food is good but I think it is the worst service I’ve ever had in a 5*… Totally we paid over €500 which is expected for this kind of establishements, but this is where customers expect to have faultless service. I understand that the miscommunications happen but they shouldn’t be treated like that in front a customer with a certain attitude from this gentleman, I felt like I did something wrong, he made me feel uncomfortable. we were treated like “thieves” who ran away from the restaurant without paying by the gentleman in his 50s. another disappointment and honestly quite a shocking treatment for a 5* establishment came when there was a moment to pay for coffee. and here comes the disappointment for a dinner for over €240, the service was poor, the waiter didn’t come back to serve the wine, didn’t come back to check whether everything is ok.the food is no fault, very good, but the service was disappointing.after our dinner we decided to have a cup of coffee in the bar area where there was live music, which we enjoyed a lot. We liked it so much that we decided to come back and try the second restaurant in hotel, the Italian one. The first dinner in la Pinède was excellent, the service is good and attentive, the surroundings are beautiful. Together we aim to reach 200 hectares planted and to be a major player at European level”, said Camil Perian, MerryBerry General Manager. We dined in the both restaurants in the hotel. Being a new domain in Romania to which the banking system will probably adapt in 5-10 years, we found in OTP Bank a partner with know-how and willing to follow the latest market trends. „Being the fastest growing blueberry plantation in Romania, for the last 2 years we have encountered many obstacles, of which financing has been an essential point of our development. Financing the MerryBerry deposit is another step we take in this direction”, said Alexandru Neagu, SME Division Director, OTP Bank România. We have for products and services designed to support them in this endeavor, having the potential to change the Romanian agriculture for the better. Thus, we had the opportunity to observe their tendency to invest in technology more and more, which is why we decided to expand the range of products and services addressed to them. „Our contribution to the agribusiness sector is a long-term one and we work closely with the Romanian farmers regardless of the size of their business. The warehouse will have three cooling chambers and five CA / ULO chambers. The surface of the warehouse is 2500 square meters, and among its facilities there is a high performance automatic sorting and packing line. For immediate access after harvesting the fruit, it is located in the middle of the MerryBerry plantation and will use the most advanced refrigeration technologies, thus ensuring the freshness of the fruit. OTP Bank România financed with RON 10.5 million the construction of the MerryBerry refrigerated warehouse, necessary for keeping the blueberries in optimal conditions, sorting them and delivering them in the best conditions to the stores in Romania, England or Germany where the company has distribution contracts. The fruits are harvested year by year in June, July and August. Besides irrigating the crop of blueberries, this system also allows the introduction of fertilizers in the irrigation water after a predetermined nutrition program, at different stages of crop development. The MerryBerry plantation distinguishes by its efficiency and technology: it has modern video surveillance systems, GPS monitoring of the machines and an irrigation system that ensures fruit production regardless of the rainfall water supply. Thus, MerryBerry has the potential to become the largest organic blueberries plantation in Europe, competing with the big established producers in Spain, Poland, Germany and France. It currently covers a 100 hectares area, on which the shrubs were planted in 2016 – 2017, meaning that it will reach an annual production of over 1,500 tons of blueberries, starting 2021. Caragiale commune in Dambovita, MerryBerry is the largest organic blueberry plantation in Romania.
